Chalet Cuckoo Clock

The Chalet style originated at the end of the nineteenth century in Switzerland. These clocks were highly valued as Swiss souvenirs at the time and have been a familiar attribute in many households throughout the years.

There are currently three basic styles of the chalet cuckoo clock, according to the different traditional houses depicted: Black Forest chalet, Swiss chalet and finally the Bavarian chalet. These clocks commonly include a Swiss music box, containing many different melodies. Along with the common projecting cuckoo bird, this style of clock may also display other types of animated figurines.
